Check out this GWT project, where they ported over the game Quake to HTML5. This is an example of what they are able to pull off with HTML5, and proof that it is quickly gaining ground on what was traditionally done in Flash.

HTML5 = scary
must be the content … but i guess the subtle implication is that HTML5 is a Flash killer, yes?
Ironic that you say this is an example of what can done with HTML5 instead of Flash – but the example is a Flash insert !!
Why not show the example without Flash (Adobe’s parasitic gift to the internet) so iPad users and those of us who normally run with Flash disabled to mitigate it’s piggish behavior can see it?
