Adeptra (2007)

Adeptra provides automated contact and resolution services to companies engaged in Consumer Credit and Risk Management. When Adeptra contacted us they were in the process of developing the Adeptra Portfolio Manager, or “APM.” APM is a web-based application designed for automating the management and contact of accounts based on a variety of criteria. Our task was to design an interface that was intuitive and inline with the new Adeptra branding, given many of the complex processes involved in automating the account management process. Once we had dissected an analyzed every piece of functionality proposed for the application, we set out to come up with 3 designs that met all of the requirements in an elegant fashion.

Although application design is our specialty, especially business applications, this project posed many challenges including having to create many unique design metaphors unavailable on any other application. As well, once we reached the final design for APM, the challenge shifted to implementation of the design into functional front-end code. Many of the design metaphors greatly reduced most of the complexity of the processes, however many pieces of the design required custom JavaScript. As well, with so much JavaScript, getting the application to look and function correctly on multiple browsers took a fair amount of debugging. Adeptra and their clients were very pleased with the final product, so much so that we have recently completed another project for them.
