Conklin Intracom (2006)

Conklin-Intracom is a leading provider of integrated, IP-based services for the Telecom Industry such as IPTV, VOIP, Video On Demand, PVR, Chat on TV, as well as many others. They presented us with the opportunity to re-design the end user interface for fs|cdn™, their IPTV product. The project scope encompassed the entire end user experience for their IPTV/Video On Demand/PVR/Chat/Email/VOIP software. The fs|cdn software integrates with multiple 3rd party vendor TV set-top-boxes, in multiple languages, placing major technical restrictions on the visual layout and interactive capabilities of the design. Another major challenge was the input device– a remote control. Many web-centric design standards are not applicable to the television, more specifically the remote control. After a heavy amount of market and competitive research, we began the frameworks design. Once the frameworks design was complete, we began designing the subsequent screens. As with many of our projects, during integration, we worked closely with the Conklin-Intracom international development team to make sure that the screen designs were properly implemented.
