SuccessFactors - Manager's Edition (2005)

SuccessFactors provides Performance & Talent Management solutions that help organizations of every size manage their human capital. The SuccessFactors Managers Edition is a simpler version of their complete Performance Review solution, and is built using Adobe Flex technology. Designed by our principal, David, the Managers Edition takes all of the hard-work and time out of giving employee performance review, almost making it fun.

Although SuccessFactors had a previous version of their Performance Review solution, this new version was such a change that the product development process was more similar to developing a new product. A series of user discussions and analyzing the major task flows, led to a much more streamlined Information Architecture, removing many steps and features that were not necessary. As well, many of the new screens were designed using dynamic design metaphors, whereby relevant content and features appear as needed.

Once the designs were finalized, they were converted into front-end code using the Adobe FLEX developer. With the front-end developed, the engineers at SuccessFactors were able to integrate the business logic and back-end in a few days. SuccessFactors Managers Edition has proven so successful, that in 2006 it was named as a finalist in the American Business Awards for best New Product or Service.
