One Legal (2006)

One Legal, formerly Fax & File, offers electronic court services including; court filing, service of process and court research. With the long process of re-branding at hand, the final step in the puzzle was to redesign the web application and the website. The web application is responsible for client's uploading files, placing, and managing orders. We began some extensive research into the legal application world before we began the project; researching the competition, types of users, how users use the system, and the additional features that One Legal wanted. One Legal was clear that they wanted the entire user experience branded consistently from the web application to the website, as well as the product demo.

The first task we tackled was the web application, where the goal was a hybrid of modern AJAX-based functionality with the professional look of an enterprise application. Due to a tight development deadline, once the web application design was complete, we began converting the finalized screen designs into behavioral front-end code. At the same time, while the web application was under development, we began designing the consumer-facing website, which is the main marketing method for the company. Again, the finalized website designs were converted to behavioral code, while began designing the last marketing piece, the product demo. As with many other projects, we worked closely with the development team at One Legal during both the implementation of the application as well as the website, to make sure everything went smoothly.
