KT Tape

About the project

KT Tape is a leader in kinesiology tape and recovery gear, trusted by athletes at every level. They came to us with a clear challenge: their mobile app wasn't serving users the way their product does—it lacked structure and left people unsure where to start.

We partnered with KT Tape to redesign the app from the ground up. The focus was on building confidence—turning a basic utility into a trusted recovery companion that guides users from first tape to full recovery.

Navigating recovery without a map

Users were getting lost. The existing app offered taping instructions, but no clear path to find them. New users didn't know where to begin. Experienced athletes couldn't quickly access the guidance they needed. The result: frustration, drop-off, and a missed opportunity to strengthen the relationship between brand and customer.

The app needed to match the product's promise—supportive, approachable, effective.

The body as the interface

We anchored the redesign around a single insight: people think in body parts, not product names. When your knee hurts, you want help with your knee.

We built the experience around an interactive body map—tap an area, get the guidance you need. This intuitive entry point eliminated the guesswork and put users in control of their recovery from the first interaction.

Recovery at your fingertips

The new app transforms KT Tape's expertise into a guided experience. Users tap their problem area on the body map and immediately access step-by-step video instructions, smart content modules, and relevant product recommendations.

The flow is seamless: identify the issue, learn the technique, shop with purpose. Every screen reinforces confidence—clear visuals, concise guidance, no dead ends.

80–100% task success

Usability testing validated the approach. Users completed key flows—finding taping instructions, learning techniques, purchasing products—with 80–100% success rates across the board.

The redesign transformed KT Tape's app into what it should have been all along: a digital companion that extends the brand's promise of recovery support. Users now move through the app with the same confidence they feel when they tape up and get back in the game.
